Alternatech is a company created by knowledgeable and enthusiastic people with over 25 years experience in the alternative fuel industry. Through its Dutch technology partner Prins Autogassystemen, Alternatech is the sole UK importer for Prins, which covers all LPG, CNG and LNG products. Our experience within the UK is unrivalled.

Alternatech has the ability to develop and retro fit LPG, CNG and LNG dual fuel systems to all types of cars, light commercials, HGV’s, generators, marine equipment and off-road products.

Alternatech and its partners designs and builds ultracapacitor-based hybrid drive systems for buses, trucks and trailers, and other heavy diesel engine equipment, whether it be on road, off road, land or sea based.

Over the years, we have converted thousands of cars and vans to LPG and CNG and HGV’s to LPG, CNG and LNG. We can also convert the latest direct injection petrol engines to LPG or CNG and can service or repair your systems.

We are accredited distributors & approved installers

UKLPG Approved Autogas Installers provide consumers with the assurance that they undertake a conversion in a safe and satisfactory manner.

The approval process was established in 1999, by the then LPGA, in consultation with the Department for Transport, and has been the standard for the industry for over two decades.

The UKLPG Approved Autogas Installers Scheme (formerly the LPGA Approved Installer Scheme) is operated by Liquid Gas UK and is the only such scheme given official government recognition.

Consumers who have their vehicle converted by a UKLPG Approved Autogas Installer have the assurance that the installers have demonstrated their ability to undertake a safe and satisfactory installation.

Only UKLPG Approved Autogas Installers can place vehicles on the UKLPG Vehicle Register - a requirement increasingly sought by insurance companies and consumers.

Liquid Gas UK also publishes the Code of Practice 11, drawn up in consultation with the industry, Department for Transport and the HSE, which is the industry standard for converting vehicles to run on LP Gas.

Distributors accredited by Liquid Gas UK means that they:

Have been authorised by the LPG system manufacturer as the official UK agent.
Are UK based.
Provide full technical support to the installer of the system.
Have a national network of dealers to service and repair the vehicle - important for you if you move to another part of the country or if you wish to sell your vehicle to someone living in a different area.
Support the vehicle owner in the event that the installer has problems or ceases trading.
Provide a two year warranty on all parts.
Are regularly reviewed by Liquid Gas UK and are subject to having Accreditation removed if they fail to comply with the Terms and Conditions of Accreditation.
